What is a Day of Mindfulness
It is a day of self-care or a day to reconnect to your practice or an opportunity to check out what Mindfulness is all about. Consider bringing a friend!
A day for you, in mindful silence is a lovely way to focus on your self-care and cultivate kindness towards yourself. Please come to a Day of Mindfulness, facilitated by Charmaine Patterson, MSW, RSW and various guests; guided mindfulness practices and mindful stretching, surrounded by a supportive community of like-minded individuals. It will be in silence – however I will be facilitating you throughout the day.
What to Bring
Please arrive early, it runs from 10:00am to 3:30pm. Bring a bag lunch, something simple. We will eat our lunch mindfully together, in silence. Please bring your cushion/yoga mat or bench for your practice if you have one. Some cushions will be available for your use and there will also be chairs. Please wear loose comfortable clothing in layers, whatever else you need to be cozy (extra pillows & blankets) and bring a water bottle. Please refrain from bringing reading materials (and especially electronics) to keep your mindful attention on your inner experience of the day. You may wish to bring slippers or an extra pair of socks. Lastly, please remember to arrive as ‘scent-free’ as possible and bring a friend to introduce them to the practice.
Cost
To save yourself a place please send Charmaine a $25 eTransfer, this helps to cover the cost for the rental space for the day at Bonavista Downs Community Centre. On the day of mindfulness a suggested donation is welcomed for the teachings as they are given freely with kindness (from the heart) and your generosity is a gift in return.
How to Register for the Day of Mindfulness on September 22nd, 2019
As noted above, to save yourself a place, please send Charmaine a $25 eTransfer. You will be sent an email confirmation and closer to the date another email will come to you explaining what to bring. You can attend the morning or the afternoon, or the whole day depending on what you can commit to. I would strongly encourage you to take the whole day to fully appreciate the experience and to focus on your self-care with ample time to cultivate loving kindness towards yourself.
